BRONZE MEDAL AWARD

The American Rose Society established the ARS Bronze Medal in the spring of 1994.  The purpose of this award is to recognize outstanding and meritorious service at the local Society level.  A recipient must be an active member of the American Rose Society.  The honoree must have demonstrated outstanding contributions to our society as well as the American Rose Society.  It is the highest award that can be bestowed upon a member of the Tri-State Rose Society of Chattanooga.

Our 2009 honoree has been an active member of this society for several years and has given her time and talent without reservation to this society to help us grow and spread the word about our great hobby of growing roses.  Her garden was on our last Tour of Roses garden tour and she has devoted many hours and lots of hard work in helping us renovate the rose garden at Veterans' Park.  She has also served our society as President.  Our honoree is employed by US Air and this past year they offered a promotion for their employees doing volunteer work.  She applied for and was given a travel voucher for $1,000 of US Air travel.  We used part of that voucher to get Jeff Ware here this evening.  These are just a few of the many things that she has done for our club.

Congratulations, Sue!
